The Roseate Spoonbill (Platalea ajaja , sometimes separated in the monotypicgenus Ajaja) is a wading bird of the ibis and spoonbill family Threskiornithidae. It is a mainly resident breeder in South America, the Caribbean, and the Gulf coast of the USA.
