You may recall the Adobe Photoshop.com Mobile app for iPhone and iPod touch and how it provided limited forms of Adobe’s editing tools. Today, the app has been rebranded as Adobe Photoshop Express and now supports the iPad. The app provides all the basic editing tools such as cropping, rotating, and color adjustments.

The iPad version allows users to edit multiple photos simaltaniously in either portrait or landscape. The app is still free universally, and surprisingly does not support the iPhone 4s Retina Display. More>>

Adobe Photoshop is the most recognized name in image-editing software, but one of the things that makes the program so powerful is the host of add-ons that are available for download.

Here are some of the most fun and helpful Photoshop add-ons for avid photographers, though it’s important to check that your operating system and software meet the technical specs required before you download them. Some are free, while others range in price, but they’re all designed to get the most out of your images.

Imagine. You need to find the file with that unmerged effects among the heap of 2 mb files which were called hastily ‘Untitled1.psd, ‘Untitled2.psd’, ‘Untitled2_a.psd’. And now you have to open every single file, wait for it to load, scroll through it, and then find the effects you was looking for. Sounds familiar?

ComparePSD compares two Adobe Photoshop PSD files for you and highlights the differences. Layer by layer. Effect by effect. Simple. And did we mention that ComparePSD is absolutely free?

Key features:

  • ComparePSD compares PSD files layer-by-layer
  • ComparePSD handles layers styles (effects), styles attributes and layers visibility flags
  • ComparePSD provides a scaled view of the files that helps you to find differences easier
  • ComparePSD allows you to select the files in Windows Explorer by right-clicking on them

ComparePSD is a free download, Windows only (although they are working on a Mac version as well). ComparePSD

A look at Photoshop CS5 shows some very cool 3D tools, among other things. The video (above) was posted back in Oct, 09 is not brand new, but it’s still interesting.
