Hello. My name is Abigail.  I am a new editor.  I’m here to help Steve (Trimoon) with this blog. Things have been hectic lately as he has been involved in photographing by boat the Silver River and he has asked me to help out. I felt honored and agreed to do so. He is also looking for someone else who might be available to post more subject-specific content. What this means is nothing in particular has been decided but it would depend on the individual’s interest and talent.

I will be posting things of a more general nature as I find them. I am open for any suggestions. Feel free to e-mail me at abigail@asnailpace.com. I look forward to your comments.  In fact, it would be nice if more people would leave comments.  It helps to determine whether or not the content we post is relevant and of interest.  The blog originally (from what Steve tells me) was a place to put he finds of interest for later reference.  He thought it would also be nice to share these interests with others.  However, he has been somewhat taken aback by the lack of comments and wondered if he should make this blog available to the public.

Just a note for those who are interested, besides Steve’s work on the Silver River, he is spending a great deal of time putting together a DVD containing some new Photoshop techniques that he has worked out over the last year and a half.  He’s been promising this for quite a while, as you are all aware, and actually had some of it ready for publication when he came to the realization that it would not all fit on a CD or be available for download due to its size and lack of bandwidth available to Steve at this time.

Starting next month (March) there will be prints available (8×10 and larger) of his wildlife images.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Abigail

Spherical tree-house

Free Spirit Spheres build lovely, spherical wooden treehouses that you enter via a suspension bridge. The photo-gallery documents the construction and installation of “Eryn,” a five-windowed spherical tree-dwelling with an electric kitchen, sleeping area, and living area. Link

Lowe’s $17,000 small cottage “kit” designed to replace FEMA trailers for survivors of Hurricane Katrina turned out to be such a big hit that the home improvement chain store is going to sell ‘em nationwide:
The cottages are cute and come in a variety of styles and sizes from 1.5-5 bedrooms. Lowe’s says people have been using them as vacation homes, guest houses, and, yes regular homes, too.
