I went out for a shoot along the Suwanee River. I found these two babies up in the tree. They were no bigger than the palm of my hand.  More Photos>>>

The ‘Tortucam’ as it’s called, is a waterproof GoPro Hero HD Camera attached to a turtle. We loved the GoPro Hero enough already but this just takes it to another level of awesomeness. The Tortucam captures life from a turtle’s perspective and we never knew so much was going on down there. From the standoff with a dog to the effortless dive the turtle makes into the pool, this non-teenage, unmutant turtle is cooler than Leonardo, Raphael, and Donatello combined. [BuzzFeed]

The Daily Mail has published some cute photos of a group of cheetahs capturing a young impala and then playing with it rather than using it as a delicious meal.

Several photos show the impala being licked, pet, and temporarily joining the pack of cheetahs before sprinting away from the group. Check out the photos below.

Belted Kingfisher 5856Photographed on the lower Suwannee River. Yesterday I got a chance to go out and shoot for the first time in months. These guys are hard to shoot because they’re so skittish. This one stood perfectly still and at first I wondered why. Then I saw a panther just at the edge of the woods walking north. I could just barely see him and hoped he would come out in the open, at last he never did. That was the second time that day I got a glimpse of the panther.

Which one is which?  Or can you name them?  They’re very close to the same height and build.  Three are shorebirds.  Their habitat is associated with shallow water.  The other is usually found on dry land.4.jpg1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg

Arno & Louise’s photosI only show the viewer that is interested in WILDLIFE, images from animals not captured and humiliated in zoos around the world. All my wildlife images are from Africa and taken over a 20+ year period.

I ignore photographic “rules” and try to give it to the viewer as I saw it at the time. If you see anything in or on the image that you dislike please accept it, it was present at the time I took the photo.

I will not alter an image, other than sharpening and lighting, just to get the approval of any so-called photographic expert. ” Arno Meintjes
