This boat-tailed-grackle chick fell out of its nest. It chose a bad spot to rest.

I entered this photo in the Florida State Parks photo contest and I won. I want to thank everyone that voted, I couldn’t have done it without you. This is the first time I’ve entered a Photo of mine in a competition. This Eagle was photographed in Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. Link

This is another eagle from Friday shoot. It is a juvenile coming in for a landing. Click on image for larger view.

I shot all these Eagles on Friday. Going back on Monday to have another go at them. There were 18 eagles in all. The juveniles outnumber the adults 2 to 1. The reason why most the images are pointed in the same direction is due to the fact that the wind was blowing from the north east with the sun somewhat low in the South. Today I went out shooting at the rookery on the alligator farm in St. Augustine. This is one of several Great White Egrets that I was able to photograph.  Click on image for larger view. More here

Went out shooting today. Here we have two adults and one juvenile. The juvenile I photograph a while back.

I had the opportunity today to photograph some orchids over Taylor Gardens in Spar (Florida). If I were to take a guess I’d say this flower is about 7 to 8 inches across. Click the image for larger view.

I found this old cemetery in the middle of the woods. Most the people had been buried prior to 1947. There were a lot of interesting headstones. I like this one.
