I use the art history brush first and then smudged. Then I took it one step further and applied the Impressionist filter. So here are both versions. Here is the original image that was posted on DP review as a challenge.

This was one of digitalnuts challenges last week. I thought it would try my new CS4 out.

Smudging is when you take the smudge tool in Photoshop and brush the image creating a brushstroke effect. In Photoshop CS4 you can now rotate the canvas. This ability to rotate the canvas lets you stroke the image from any angle. If you liked the sketch this is a great feature. If you smudge our draw, CS4 for you.
