About

This is a place of interesting things such as photography and things of an artistic nature. Not unlike the junk drawer in your kitchen, full of things you may need someday.

My name is Stephen LeQuier a/k/a Trimoon. I am a photographer, graphic artist and Photoshop enthusiast. I pass on my knowledge of Photoshop by posting tutorials or how-to’s. My photography mainly consists of wildlife — you know, things out in the wild, things that can eat you if you give them a chance. I work out of Silver Springs, Florida and travel all over the state in the hopes of finding something of interest. My favorite places to go in all of Florida are the lower Suwannee River Wildlife Preserve and the Ocala National Forest. I have done over 150 tutorials over the last 5 years. I’ve been using Photoshop since its beginning but mostly for processing images. For the past 7 years I have been manipulating photographs into paintings with the goal to make them more like traditional mediums such as watercolor and oil. I try to make them more man generated rather than computer generated. I mainly do this in a desire to satisfy my artistic cravings. In doing so, I’ve accumulated a lot of knowledge and skill in the art of Photoshopping and have a desire to share this knowledge and skill with friends.

What’s a blog?

A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) and are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts. From Wikipedia

This blog

This blog was started as a depository for things that I find of interest. I put them here, not only for me, but for people of a like mind. I originally started this as a photoblog over on PBase.com when they first started offering this type of blog format. I’ve posted there for over a year and felt that was a great achievement and, surprisingly, a lot of fun. I was also surprised at the fact that I kept the blog going. I decided to move my blog from PBase to here. It became increasingly hard to post there due to the lack of tools, not to mention just how slow PBase was becoming. It was just incapable of handling this sort of medium.

Tutorials

The tutorials that I post here are mostly free – without charge. However, there are exceptions: The Watercolor, Artistic Expressions, Portrait and Artistic Endeavors Tutorials have a fee. This is due to their size. I do not have the bandwidth to upload them and have them downloaded for free, so I put them on CD and charge a fee for them. You can download the following: Watercolor, Portrait and Artistic Endeavors Tutorials but these are hosted on a third-party site that charges me for the privilege. Those charges are passed on. Artistic Expression is not available for download because it is over 600MB in size and can only be ordered on CD at this time. All tutorials come with the artwork, original photo, used in the tutorial along with brushes and textures used in the tutorial. The tutorials mentioned above are done in a flash video and are of high quality and easy to view and understand. I ship the tutorials by post to anywhere on the planet. However, there is an additional charge for anywhere else.
