I have a new gallery at zenfolio.com.  I created this new gallery because it gives me the ability to sell my prints.  All the prints are available in 8 x 10 and are professionally processed on Kodak paper.  I’m selling the 8 x 10 prints for $10 plus shipping.  All the proceeds will go towards supporting this site and others I’ve created.  All the prints in this new gallery have previously been printed, so I know they’re of good quality.  I’d also like to add that if you are interested in setting up a gallery at zenfolio.com, I have a discount code (89M-NTY-REW) that will get you a few dollars off.  If you use the code, I get a credit for everyone who signs up.  I have to say that I am impressed with the quality of the site.  I sold two 8 x 10 bird prints my first day. Link to gallery  stephenlequier.com

Thank you.

Steve

Not a Good Idea

This boat-tailed-grackle chick fell out of its nest. It chose a bad spot to rest.

An elderly couple are having an elegant dinner to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. During desert, the old man leans over and says to his wife, “Dear, there’s something I have to ask you. It’s always bothered me that our 10th child never quite looked like the rest of our children. I must know: Did he have a different father?” The wife drops her head, unable to look at her husband. “Yes,” she admits. “He does.” Tears well up in the old man’s eyes. “Please,” he says, “Can you tell me who it was?” The woman pauses while mustering her courage. Then she says, “You.”

buibahouseBats have been maligned for centuries, miscast as the familiars of witches, associated with Hallowe’en, and feared for the false belief that they will get caught in hair. Bats have been unfairly burdened with these myths, often reviled and victimized because of it. In reality, bats are incredibly important to the health of the environment and our gardens.

Bats are the primary predator of night-flying insects such as moths, beetles, and mosquitoes. A healthy colony of bats can protect gardens and crops from major damage by pest species such as cucumber beetles, moths, cutworm, corn earworm, leafhoppers, and June beetles. Putting up bat houses is a great way to help bat populations.
